Created during my Fashion & Textile studies in Edinburgh, this costume draws inspiration from both the rich ornamentation of Eastern cultures and the iconic image of the holy Madonna. The design plays with contrast — sacred and avant-garde — blending a flowing, turquoise base with layered textures and symbolic detailing. The look was completed with an unconventional headpiece I called “The Lemur,” intentionally disrupting the traditional, saintly aesthetic and adding a bold, surreal twist.
